I want to get a 5.1 speaker setup for my Home pC....Uptill now i was thinking mainly about getting the Logi Z5300....

But doing some research i came up with the Creative Gigaworks 500 also as an option...

Now i am way to confused as to which one to go for.... I don't even know if the Creative ones are available here or not...

Any other suggestions for a 5.1 speaker setup are welcome... I can spend somewhere slightly around 12k... So cant go for the Z5500's...

Would be mainly using the speakers for listning to music.....

i seriously doubt its gonna be below 12k reeking...

You will be able to get the wharfdale 8.1 bookshelfs for just around 12-12.5k. But the problem is you will require a stereo amp or an AV reciever to drive these. if you have one then g8 or else stick to logitech's

edit: if you are not into multichannel audio you can consider the altec lansing mx5021 also.

i have the the z5300's got them for 12k a year back, speakers r gr8, bass si suprb, woofer is big, and the box it comes in can house a cabby+ crt monitor...

speakers r gr8 for music/movies, u can feel the shockwaves while playn games..... in all speakers r great, but the wires r a bit too short.. if u r gonna set it up around your room, u can always get additional wiring.... (cheap wiring will giv amp alotta load)

well..ive read on some forums that the Z5300 arent really that impressive for music.. that is why i got doubleminded over them...

The Z5300 sound too boomy....lacks clarity . I will suggest u to try the Altec Lansing 5.1 range...no idea abt the price of models such as FX5021 though :p

The best thing would be listen to both of them .... z5300 and mx5021. u can com over to mumbai ... i hv z5300 .... ;)

Its true that z5300 has very powerful bass ... it overpowers the treble.

You can use a player like FB2k and adjust the equalizer to suite your taste!!!!:)

get a friggin amp ill get ya a nice wharfdale deal
and btw @ everyone
any audiophile will tell ya to buy the best of the brands ( be it second hand) den buy new branded crap.period:cool2:

a) you have a budget of 12 k

b) you are going to listen to music mostly

I would strongly recommend that you ask yourself why you need 5.1

because , at this budget , you are not far away from audio nirvana in stereo

I am gettin a 5.1 cause i have a good room to myself in which i can place speakers as per my choice and i like to listen to music in good quality..

eeeks stop! More channels do not mean more quality. :p

If its purely for music, then go for stereo, invest in a decent amp and speakers.

If you are looking for movies>games>music, then go for 5.1
