6300 v 6233 v Nokia n70ME v SE 810i

hey all!!

This is for a phone for my dad... 10k budget...(yes n70ME is available for 10.5). He currently has some old nokia phone (6610 or something can't remember) and wants to upgrade. After going thru these threads and similar debates for similar situations before have to decide btn these... His priorities aren't much...

doesn't care for gr8 music (but i do...:P ) but he'll listen off and on...

decent cam (he likes taking pics.. visits many places and doesn't take the digicam along)

Has to have a good battery life...(i know 6300 sucks in this dept)

Looks should be good... in business places best not to be caught with an eyesore... what?

internet capabilities...for browsing/checking email etc... he mentioned that he'd like to do so...

so folks... bring forth ur suggestions and make sure i'm gonna be more confused... :D

I think u should get the SE W810i considering its ease of operation and taking pics. Its a nice and decent fone with very less fuss. While nokias are very messy cos of symbian. Though some people wont agree. Also there is a 2 megapixel cybershot in K series of SE, forgot the model, its cool too. :hap2:
 
If he messages a lot, the 6233 is the best.

I personally would vote for the 6233. I love the phone. Superb keypad, decent camera (not as good as the Sony Ericssons), awesome sound quality (comparable to the walkman phones. It's that good).

And it's damn cheap. It is now available for 8K or so.
 
^Second that...the 6233 has all going for it..

decent design..suits a professional as much as a college guy..

Awesome loudspeakers for your money..comparable or better than N73!

Awesome 2" 262k display...

A very comfy keypad...

The cam is very good evn w/o autofocus and takes vga res videos, which none of the others u listed can do..

A decent music capabilities..all u need are a good pair of earphones like EP630..then it can rival any ipod or W series phone!!

3G capabilities with edge and u can install opera mobile for net surfing and email..

Finally 1100 Mah battery for gr8 battery time..easily does 2-3 days..

The W810 is a good phone too, but it has a smaller display with a worser 176x220 resolution..(the 6233 has a res of 240x320)..cam is obviously gr8 for still pics as it has autofocus but does a qcif video recording..which looks pathetic on the pc..the loudspeaker is no whr remotely comparable to the 6233's...though music thru earphones is good like all other W series phones..

(btw, u can achieve the same quality with the 6233 with good earphones)

finally, the price difference between the 6233 and the W810 is not justifiable since 6233 seems clearly a better overall product..an all rounder of sorts..

The 6300 looks good..but ths all going for it...as u mentioned urself..yeah, it has a bad battery..850 mah doesnt inspire much confidence..it good only for a day..cam is inferior than the 6233 and does not support vga recording like the 6233..the loudspeakers are nowhr near the quality of the 6233..finally lacks 3g capabilities if tht matters to u..

The N70me is not a bad phone for 10.5k as it is the only symbian in ur choice list..it has a good cam and music thru earphones is gr8...but loudspeakers are inferior and the phone is very slow...so if u can do with the speed, u can consider the N70ME too ...it suits the hands of professionals very well..

So u can decide between the 6233 and the N70ME...;)

dad really has fallen for the looks of 6300 but i suppose after considering all these points he'll opt for 6233 i suppose... i shall let u'll know the final choice...

My vote goes for the SE w810i as i own one. comes with 512 MB card, MPS-60 speakers, Walkman earphones and data cable.

But in 6233 u can increase the font size of the dialling number, so bought one for my uncle.also has louder speakers.
This one didn't have data cable, memory card, some 6 months ago, and the bundled earphones r nowhere nr SE W. Also my uncle managed to damage the earphones inspite of the best care (u know how uncletype log preserve of these things) and I roll over on my SE W's every night.
