Graphic Cards 7800 GT SLI or X1900XT

Yes the famous Catch 22 situation...

As of now i have:

Opty 146 than can do 2.7 on default Vcore
Evga 7800GT
DFI Ultra D + SLi Bridge Chip(Yes i have it :p )
I Gig of Memory
Zebby 540(Which i belive can handle SLI)

What i can get:
XFX 7800 GT
X1900XT

For X1900XT i might... Just might have to spend a little bit more then i would have spent on two 7800GT's... What do you think should be considered and why... I am leaning more towards ATI cause of three reasones:

IQ
IQ
and IQ

While nVIDIA solution is a tad easy infact a lot easy on the pocket :p... One thing that i will be clocking the CPU to 2.5/2.7 and not above for everyday use...

X1900XT no contest. SLI doesn't benefit too much with HDR enabled. The X1900XT comes out equal to GTX512 SLI in certain situations with HDR. (Serious Sam 2 especially!). Sell off that 7800GT and get the X1900XT :p
 
2 x X1900XT in crossfire would be just right for you to play CSS or PacMan .....

but you wont get much for that 7800GT nowadays max 13 ~14 K or so ....

And seriously... If 7800 GT's are runing for that much in India.... I wont mind buying one more... Actually XFX 7800 GT is from my cousion who also has a SLI board... Either him or me was thinking of going SLI/X1900XT... But as you said 13-14K we both might as well go SLI... Dj... Please let me know whensoever you spot anycards at those prices :)...
 
Looks like you'll be getting an X1900XT (especially since vandal's given you a guarantee that you won't regret it)... so... erm... how much are you selling that 7800GT for? :p :D

EDIT: Just saw your post, Switch. So you're not selling the 7800GT. H'm... what a pity. :( I'd love to buy it off of you for 13k. :bleh:

IMHO wait for 7900 or 8800.

It will be better as right now you have a 7800 GT which is enough for gaming at a resolution of 1280x1024 right.

Rest is upto you.

Hang on to the 7800GT. If you do wanna change, then go for the x1900xt. No questions asked.
 
A single high-end card > SLI/Crossfire... PERIOD! :)

SLI/Crossfire have little or no value for money - upgrading an SLI rig is a pain in the A considering the low resale value of graphics cards - it's not easy finding a buyer who wants a used card.
 
Wait for it new GPUs if you can. Else if you can get 78GT in 14K or less... I think its a good deal to have an SLI setup. Yeah, I know I want to have one before I get to old to do all this :D .... just for the sake of having it.

Naturally if you go in for 2 x1900xtx in crossfire you would be giving / donating / selling (getting rid of basically) ur "Lowly" 7800 GT. hence putting "mano vaigyanik dawab" (MVD) so i get it......:cool2: :D

seriously: if you have a blank cheque then go in for Current x1900xt series ....else wait a few weeks for the 256mb version of it @ around $300 ~ $330 price point.
and i have no intention of buying any graphics cards in the near future ....(paise nahin hai ....) and the price of the 7800GT is market determined it is not as i have claimed from switch ....

hmmm deejay even today 6800 Ultra sells for atleast 15k :S
for a 7800Gt you should get 18 ~ 19k

switch I think you should wait for the next gen dx10 cards ;)
 
yea switchy u shud wait for dx 10 :) as a 7800 gt is suffice for a year ... wait a year and fed ur b**ch with dx 10 and pass on one to me too :bleh: obviously at 15k :bleh:
 
X1900XT is the way to go. hey will surely kick ass with next generation pixel heavy games, either case WGF 2.0 or Dx 10 wont be out atleast 6 mths after Vista's official debut. atleast 2 years from now.
