7zip vs winRAR

Its been quite some time that I saw that 7zip doesnt extract from RAR . It gives me CRC failed file broken error while same thing when extracted using winRAR gives the intact file. Is there something am doing wrong?
 
Is the RAR file broken up into parts ?

7zip has never failed with RAR in my experience.
 
For a single & multiple rar files, 7zip works like a charm.
So you must surely be doing something wrong.
 
I have also seen the same thing with 7-zip, IMO the reason being version compatibility with WinRAR's newer versions. If the compression has been made with a newer / beta version of WinRAR then 7-zip fails to extract.

Are you trying to extract rars which are like .rar, r00, r01 etc ?
If yes then try to extract the .rar (not the .r00) and it should extract all parts fine and combine them.

Yes actually I didnt notice till now ... when sorted by name .r00 comes first which does not give a problem on winrar but on 7zip. Actually figured it out after 5mins of posting the thread.. anyway thanks for your inputs :).
