hi , i was planning to buy an 8800gts 320 mb when one of my friends told me that the 320mb of vram would be a bootleneck in future coz of the 320 mb vram... he said that GRAW requres 500bm vram to run at full settings...is it true or i can go ahead with this purchase... i am looking at a timeframe of about 1.5-2 yrs before my next purchase...i would be playing games on 1440*900 on my 19" lcd or on an HDTV.

Personally I dont think anyth less than GTX will run crysis ultra Quality and 1440x900....

If you can tone down some settings a bit GTS will do....I dont game much so got the 320MB one, if you game a lot get the GTS 640MB.

at your res I wouldnt go for GTX though...

I dont even even this a GTX will be able to handle Crysis @ Ultra Settings.

Amrit, the GTS 320mb is more than enough for ALL games under 1680x1050 res.

Its great for around 1280x1024.

Well , it actually depends on the game itself ... some of the current games already require 500+ vram under full settings ... games that don't will definitely run fine .. but 320 MB will soon become a bottleneck :P ... no matter how much mem. bandwidth it offers :P ...
