8k budget for cpu

my friend is building a new comp for his dad, and he wants to limit the budget to 8k only, and can stretch to 8.5 max....

he already has monitor, speakers, and all,

he'll need new processor,mobo,ram,hdd,dvdrw,and generic psu

and NO grafix card

so, please build me both the combinations, AMD as well as INTEL

and dont make the budget go above 8.5k, and try its under 8k

AMD:

SEMPRON Sempron 140 2.7GHz, 1MB, AM3 1650

GF7025 M4N68T-M 16x,V,S,L, DDR3 2550

2 gb ddr3,not too sure of price maybe ~1.7k.

dvd drive ~1k

Seagate 250 GB 1525

Zebronics cabinet generic psu ~1k

Total:

9.4k This was the lowest i could think of.

Intel:

Go with an Atom setup,or an old core 2 duo.

even with dual core e5300,it goes to 10k+.

So atom is a choice for you here.

ATOM D410PT board + ATOM 1.6 GHz 2975

Seagate 250 GB 1525

same amount of ram, ~1.7k

dvd drive ~1k

zebronics cabinet+generic psu ~1k

Total rs ~8.2k

EDIT:going with 2 gig sounds better
 
its difficult to find 1 gb ddr3 but 2gb commonly available.with ur budget u can only buy sempron based system.above mentiones configs r decent one.and opt for sempron rather than atom.
 
You can also check out Gigabyte GA-D510UD dual core for Rs.4,700/-

That might give a little boost when running multiple applications.

I would suggest that you stick to Intel Atom when you are on a tight budget plus you will also save power and money.
 
Instead of 1GB DDR3 get a DDR2 mobo and 2GB DDR2. 2gb costs 1.2K

Then the whole system will be cheaper
