Monitors A nice budget LCD for gaming !!pls suggest

my friend wants to get a a 19 inch LCD tomorrow. he is updating from 15inch dabra monitor ..his budget is 7k..can anyone suggest which LCD is best fitted for him?

he has his eyes on DELL 19incher which retails for 6.5 or samsung 18.5 inch with better contrast ratio..

pls suggest!

AOC 917Fwx for 6.8k...1680x1050, 8000:1 DCR, 5ms, and hav features like DCB and picture boost, and several brightness, gamma profiles for text, movies, games, etc. I think its better than Dell E1909W. But if ur frnd is into more movie watching get Samsung or Dell 18.5" since they hav 16:9 aspect ratio, where as AOC 19 hav 16:10 with XHD resolution.
 
I hav used both S1909W and E1909W...but personally I didn't like them. E1909W is some kinda old model for present generation monitors and IMO best for office use. I gav back S1909W as it is having some weird low HD resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio, best for movies, but some apps and games wont run well.

Or spend 600 more bucks and get Samsung 2033SW 20" for 7.6k
 
but 1600x900 is quite ok...and most of the new games hav support for dat resolution I think, but should hav a gud grfx card too...btw 1440x900 will be gud for any cards in the mid range like HD4770, with all effects turned on.

"AOC is a gud company?"...wat a question?!! I think in U.S. and Europe AOC is famous for its monitors than dell I think. Warranty is as usual 3yrs and RMA service is gud in my place...it may vary from place to place for all products. Thou Dell is exceptional, u will get door step warranty.

thats really puts me in dilemma (AOC or Dell)...both are good i know , now it all on my friend decision :eek:hyeah: , thnx again jin:)
 
lullu go get the Samsung 2033sw @ 7.1k .......I have an AOC 2217pwc, trouble free now for a yr, good service n support too, but seriously, IQ is no match to Dell/Samsung LCDs.
 
I think AOC 2217Pwc is an old model...at dat time Dell E1909W was my favorite.

If 2033SW is now only 7.1k!! then it is a must buy IMO

I believe Rakesh Sharma has AOC screen as well- I do not know which one. However, I do believe since he has the screen and his level of expertise in hardware :eek:hyeah:, he is the best we have right how who can put some light on this. Checking out Rakesh's thread in the show off section should give some idea.

ya I hav AOC 917Fwx and wat Rakesh Sharma hav is AOC F22(one of my personal favorite 22" LCDs)

even thou I'm a Dell fanboy, when it comes to display units I always like AOC :) I know AOC is not so popular among Indians, but AOC hav a gud reputation to the people abroad, and I hav some frnds there who always recommended AOC to me even thou its availability is low in India.
