Had a couple of suggestions for the "Reviews and Previews" section

(a) Would it be possible to further categorize the Reviews being written into sections such as "CPU/Mobo", "Mobile Phones" etc (basically the same categories as present on the forum). Of late the number of reviews being done has increased substantially and it might be useful to have a little more order in that section. It will take some effort to categorize the reviews already done but going forward things would be a lot more organized. Say I want to buy a new mobile i just go to the reviews section, goto mobile phones and read up on what people have to say. Right now I have to hunt amongst all the clutter to find what i want.

(b) Would it be possible to implement some kind of a review rating mechanism so I can focus on the good reviews.
Both of these will be really useful once the number of reviews grow significantly which shouldnt take so long considering how fast TE is growing.
 
+1, categories will keep the forum also neater, subsections are always good for arrangement.
 
Good to look at? = Yes.

Good for the reviews in terms of readership = No.

When its out there in one single section, people might stumble on it and read. If its buried under one more category, some might not even go there.

Maybe we can have archive system where all reviews older than 3 months can be moved as per the category. but still i dont think its needed.
 
^^ Not now maybe. But wait till there are more. A lot more. And then it would be difficult to dig up what you want to read, it would be so cluttered.

Though what you say about people "stumbling" upon reviews and reading them also makes sense.

Edit: I know its a lot of work for the mods if you decide to implement it, but wont it be even more work later when the number of reviews gets really large. Or am I being too optimistic about the number of reviews that are going to get written :)
 
Its not a lot of work for mods, now nor later, so dont worry about that. When we have to do it we have to do it, somehow. :P

But then TE would be full of sections. Now imagine if we do the same for market as well. It will become overwhelming.

With the VB version update we can look at putting prefixes to the guide to categorize them. I wonder if there is an option to just search for a particular prefix in that.

I hate buried categorization. i feel TE's categories are just PERFECT.

And i agree to OP regarding Rating of Reviews. Rating and then "Sort by Rating" should also be introduced.

Good work by TE mods in keeping TE updated and hence the best forum in technology. :clap: highly appreciated
