Can anyone tell me the procedure of adopting a child in India, basically baby under age of 1-2 year :)

Please throw light what all conditions are needed to be fulfilled, including legal procedure. The baby needed to be adopted in Chhattisgarh :)

I don't know the procedure but i think i read somewhere that the to be parents (who are adopting) cannot be over certain age (40 or so, don't know exact) if they wish to adopt a less than 1 year old baby.

Do you ever google before you post a query? All the info you need is on the first page of google search for the topic mate.

I don't believe much into official govt. sites, either they aren't updated properly, or information provided is misleading.

I better stick to personal experience, in order to avoid any future problems :D

Also, can anyone tell how to get information about baby up for adoption ??

I agree with @Being.smart's response. There's hardly any indian website (private or govt) which gives complete information. Also, user experience matters a lot, especially when it comes from sites like TE, where most of the participants know each other's behavior/talent/skills etc. Such opinions carry more value than the ones posted on sites like mouthshut, flipkart or amazon.

Moreover, almost all the queries posted on TE can be answered by google but people still come and ask here... why? As an example, there's a recent thread on replacement of missing PAN card. Relevant web sites contain complete information, yet there are certain scenarios that are not covered by this govt website. Only a person gone thru similar issue could've provided an answer. Such answer/opinion seeking facility is not available on most of the websites.

By relying on TE users' opinions (irrespective of right or wrong), Being.smart is giving more value to you guys... at least appreciate that thought! :p

^ +1. Also if there are any members here who have gone through that process before, they can shed much more light on what all issues that will crop up which most of the websites ignore.

The problem is not about asking, but doing the necessary research beforehand. By doing a quick Google search and listing down the doubts, one could at least make it easier for others.

Saar, You basically want spoon feeding. Read the procedure there, come back with specific queries so people can actually help you better. Why do you expect people to help you when you dont want to help yourself? I mean half these threads you've started wouldnt be needed if you did. http://www.techenclave.com/community/search/259088/

I know the importance of sharing experiences and ideas and tips, but this is sheer and constant lazyness on your part.

Anyway, Imma out. If you are getting the child, wish you and the child all the happiness. :)

Actually i am taking matter seriously, since one of my friend (36-37 yr old ) is being pressurized by his family to go for 2nd marriage :(

The first wife cant have baby due to some internal problem, and they had been married since 6 yr. The family want some kin to continue their generation (general mindset of crorepati's), while my friend is not in mood to go for 2nd marriage.

I asked him to go for middle way :D, adopt a child, and give him/her your name, solution done, neither the society will blame you, nor your khandan, and you will be continuing your generation :):).

In order to give him some more insight on this issue, i started this thread

but after so many replies, only one comment helped me little @Gannu, going through official docs. Most probably we are planning to hire some advocate to get matter done soon

Well, who the hell does get pressured into marriages nowadays let alone a second marriage!

Tell your friend to become a man first and then think of becoming a father. Whatever the mentality of a family, it is a hell lot different for a person to break his marriage bond and re-enter another just for a biological issue.

As for the adoption process, i hope you and your friend get all kinds of help to do the needful. I do not know the procedures first hand to lend the required help.

Your friend is 37, childless being pressurized for a second marriage and you are 23 something college student unmarried giving him advise for adopting a child. Hmmm... You could have come up with a better story...

Your friend's parents deserve to be put in jail for even thinking of a second marriage for their son when he's already married to someone.

See problem is that, he neither willing to leave his family due to the reason he loves them, nor he won't be leaving his wife. I am not stating that he was being asked to break his marriage, but in turn asked to for 2nd wife.

He is one of my close friend, you can check my local friend list, all are above 30+, even i had got friend as old as 57 yr, what's wrong in that ??

Its pretty legal in our caste, and even govt. can't interfere in it. Its some earlier tradition which is still being followed by some peoples, so cant help about it.

It is not legal in your or anyone cast (except one religion i suppose) to practice polygamy. It is just that in your caste they practice and government won't do anything because they want their vote bank and caste is a superb way to divide and rule.
