My 6800GT AGP has fried. I am trying to see if it can be replaced which will take some time. Any way I was planning to upgrade my system to a AM2 mobo and a DX10 Graphics card around october or november. In the mean time I want to keep using my machine to atleast make use of the Internet access I have. so I am planning to get a budget AGP card. My only source of entertainment after comming back from work is games. So I need to be able to play atleast some games like Total overdose etc. What should be the best card for me keeping this in view if my budget is max 5k and what if I can go to max 8k in which case it should have some resale value. Mobo has AGP 8x, so its another constraint. should I go for Geforce 6200 AGP or some other card. Is there any good budget s754 based board with PCIx16 support so that I can go for a PCIx16 card with better resale value? Is it advisable to do that.

Ok, Dealer told me that I will be able to get the replacement for the graphics card but will take some time.. :) So just looking for a temporary graphics card which I can pass on to sister afterwards. Is a 6200 AGP good enough..?

Yeah its XFX, but mobo its AGP. so will have to get new mobo to get 7600GT.:hap5:
If I get a good offer for 7900GT then I will take it. Will replace my mobo with the DFI board. :ohyeah:

^^ Do give the 7800GS/7600GS a look as well :)

His budget is 8k max :P 7600 GS AGP hasnt come out yet anyway. Best choice right now would be a 6600 GT. A couple are on sale on TE for around 6k.

I have sent the 6800GT for replacement, but it will take some time get it. So I am looking for a budget AGP card like a nVidia 6200 or 5200. But seems like AGP is not available locally .

6200 is available on IndMall, but I am concerned that they would take some time to send it if its not readily in stock. (They took a week to send the Memory stick I ordered). So sent a mail to Abacus Peripherals in delhi to see whether they can send a sparkle brand one to me.

The local dealer here gave me an old AGP card as backup till the replacement. Its an Asus 3800 TNT2 64 (Vanta) with 16 MB Ram. I guess its a AGP 2x/4x card. so not sure whether its compatible with my MSI K8N Neo Platinum which has an Ver 3.0 8X slot. Didnt risk putting it in.
