Folks, I was considering purchase of a 120GB Kingston Hyperx Savage SSD at http://www.amazon.in/HyperX-Savage-...&qid=1485895324&sr=8-19&keywords=ssd+kingston
for Rs 5,999/-.
But, looking at the seller ratings and after some research that indicates that 240GB capacity SSDs have relatively better write performance, I am considering the following:
1. Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD at http://www.amazon.in/HyperX-Savage-...062980&sr=8-2&keywords=kingston+hyperx+savage
for Rs 9,299/-.
2. Sandisk Extreme Pro 240GB SSD at http://www.amazon.in/SanDisk-Extrem...F8&qid=1485895038&sr=8-2&keywords=ssd+sandisk
for Rs 9,499/-.
3. Crucial MX200 250GB SSD at http://www.amazon.in/Crucial-MX200-...=1485897585&sr=8-1&keywords=ssd+crucial+mx200
for Rs 7,999/-.
I have
i> a 120GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD in my Lenovo Z5070 laptop and
ii> a 120GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD in my wife's Dell 3158 laptop.
From my personal experience, I feel that the general zippyness (cold boot, wake up from hibernate, network speed etc.) is much better on my laptop with the Pro SSD as compared to my wife's laptop with the Evo SSD although this could be influenced by manufacturer specific drivers and customizations. (for eg: It takes 5-6 seconds for the stupid Dell logo to be displayed at boot/wake up).
Nevertheless, I would like to stick to MLC based SSDs and I want to try something other than Samsung. I plan to use the SSD with in
an Intel NUC5PPYH NUC at http://www.amazon.in/Intel-BOXNUC5PPYH-NUC-Kit-NUC5PPYH/dp/B00XPVQHDU
along with 8GB G.Skill DDR3L memory at http://www.amazon.in/G-SKILL-Ripjaw...85986846&sr=1-1&keywords=ddr3l+memory+g.skill as mentioned in the Intel NUC5PPYH compatibility list at http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-nuc-kits/000006071.html
I'm looking a a silent yet powerful desktop PC replacement for daily browsing, youtube, H.264/H.265 movies, music and the very occasional game(older titles will do).
Can you please share your thoughts on which SSD would be best suited for my requirement?
