Advise for New Video Camera - budget 25k max

Hi,

I am looking to buy a new video camera so need your advise to pick something in a budget of 25 k max. do the HDD cameras come in this range or do I have to settle with DVD option?

You will easily get HDD based video cameras for your budget ! :)

IMO Sony video cameras are good.

Look for these,

Sony SR68E - 19990/- MRP 80gb HDD. You can get this for around 18k.

You can even get and HD 1080 capable video camera if you up your budget a little.

Sony CX150 - 29990/- MRP 32gb SD. You can get this one for around 27k if you hunt a little.

Last week eBay had these items in their Deals and were priced at 18175/- and 27k something.

Btw, I bought the SR68E for 18175 - 1000 (ICICIEBAY5) = 17175/- :)

Just delivered an hour ago. Expect pics soon !

Even an entry level Sony handycam now has 60X optical zoom. But what I wonder is that with such a huge zoom ratio, the optical quality should be really poor with all sorts of distortions and aberrations!
