Audio Advise on Buying Subwoofer

Hi Guys

I have having speakers from my old Sony Hifi system, they are good!! but the main unit (disc unit) not working, so wanted to connect them with subwoofer.
Please provide suggestions, I am looking for cheapest option... around 0.5 - 1k

You will never find any sub-woofer at this price. Leave the sub-woofer aside, you won't be able to make custom-designed/purchase the enclosure at this price.

Where are you planning to place them subwoofers? Mostly stand a lone are available for cars, although you can create a custom build. Let me know if you need some DIY help!
 
I am complete noob regarding speaker stuff... I have this old sony speakers.. I want to just use them, your help is really appreciated!!!
