Graphic Cards Advise on RMA required (MSI)

Hello Guys,

I had received my MSI R6950 TF II/OC back from RMA today after a week. It was overheating even with limited use. Though the new card received in RMA seems to be refurbished and is not working as well. I will resend this card for RMA. I assume that these cards are not in production anymore or are rarely available still MSI is replacing it with same card (doubt it to be refurbished).

My question here is,
  1. Would MSI give me a better card in replacement if I offer them to pay the difference. I plan for MSI R7950 TF III/OC.
  2. If yes then how do they calculate the difference. For example, I bought the card for Rs.17500 during May 2012 and I want to replace it with MSI R7950 TF III/OC which currently costs around Rs.26000 (assumed). So the difference between the price is Rs.26000 - Rs.17500= Rs. 8500. Is this the price that I had to pay or will they depreciate the price of my card and then calculate the difference.

Please advise as quickly as possible. Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Regards,

I have long relation with Digicare and I think they will give u a 6950 from old stock. If 6950 is not in stock they will surely depriciate your card value and offer you a 7770 or 7850 1GB version. I can suggest you to throw a Mail arjun@msi.com and tell him your issue. Wait for his reply. Only he can help you. Arjun is the tech head engg of MSI INDIA.

Thank you for your prompt suggestion. Though I didn't emailed Mr.Arjun however did sent some strong email communication to DIGICARE that I am not going to accept any further defective card. Got lucky there and received a brand new MSI R6950 TF II/OC as replacement.
