Age to buy sim free phone

I want to buy a phone at carphone warehouse, but I am not sure from what age I can buy it. I know that the contract can be bought just if you're 18+. But I never knew about sim free

Are you from UK? There are no restrictions on smartphones, buy when you like as opposed to contracts.
