Graphic Cards AGP Card and Windows prob

I have a FX 5200 AGP which I planned to use with my old mobo today.

I have Windows XP SP3 installed on machine. When I plugged in AGP card and booted the system, it booted properly and showed the XP progress bar but got hung at the logon window, only blue screen there(not BSOD).
I have tried following:

1. Uninstalled onboard display divers from XP and disabled VGA from
Device manager.
2. Disabled VGA from BIOS.
3. Pressed F8 for booting via VGA mode

All above leads me to same blue screen at logon with AGP card. Though when I use onboard VGA everything works fine.

I have tested the card with Knoppix Live CD and it works with it.

What could be the issue, anything I'm missing ??

Tried safe mode with card plugged in?
Did you manage to install drivers or it never booted up in windows.
It could be previous drivers from old video card or something.
I suggest get driver sweeper and boot up clean old display drivers from system and then plug card in and check.

In your live CD is the 3d mode enabled? Ie is it auto detecting the fx 5200 card, or is it defaulting to software mode?

As madmaniac suggested try loading on through safe mode and do a clean install of drivers.

@madmaniac used driver sweeper but that didn't help. and no the windows didn't even booted in safe mode, same it got hung at black welcome screen of safe mode.

@aces, Live CD probed the FX card itself I didn;t booted it with added params

Any thing else I am missing here ???
