I heard that Airtel is layin cables near my house, and I'm planning to go for this plan.

But I Think The 250 Plan is better ! Coz I usually surf at daytime so I dont download much then ! Its only at Night that my download starts ! so basically with the 250 plan u could surf in the daytime and Download all the heavy Files during Night , thus keeping the Bill under control !

if anyone is in for this plan plz post your speed screenshots . . .
i'm gonna switch over to this if the speeds are as good as the normal UPTO 256 kbps lines..:P

what i think best is 999PLAN

under this you have a speed of 256kbps which speeds upto 512

and unlimited download

month`s charge is 999Rs. only
for highend users this is the best plan man

this is mch on the same lines wid BSNL .. bt yea.. 49 more and u kick BSNL out of the scene..

if only these ppl wd get the 256kBps UL on more economical rates.. i ll be the frst one to jump on it ..

Is any airtel representative present in TE?? I need to talk to him. why dosent airtel lay cables to my house when their lines is 10m from my house. I been requesting the CC so many times and all I get is Sorry we are not providing service in your area, its only 10m yaar why dont they put the damn line to my house:@ :@ :@

^^^ aww.... too bad.... the same case was with me... but then ended up extending the cables. They told me that they are looking to expand and I gave them a good opportunity :P

any news of this plan here yet?

BTW if i set the PC to shutdown @ 8AM....the traffic will cut down right??
what i mean is previously i was in a 256kbps top up plan (acc to hours )

Even if my pc was shutdown & the modem on then, the billing would continue....so i got a USB modem for this particular reason(it would power down automatically on shutdown).
Now if i take this plan & set my pc to shutdown @ 7.55 PM . . . . . .
^ even if the modem is on...i wont be charged anything right (cause my download/upload is stopped)..
or does the modem continue to ping the airtel server even when the pc is shutdown ?
FYI my modem is 220BX...can dialers' be configured ? any workaround for this ?

Speeds upto 256? So basically throttled bandwith.C how much ur actually gettin...

Airtel always states 'upto' in their speeds, like the 999 plan. speeds 'upto 256kbps'. And avg speeds we've all been getting is 25.5kBps.

i get 30KBps speeds continuosly on Bitcomet with airtel999 (256kbps)

I have not done any port forwarding as of now

will that make any diff?

also when r airtel gonna officially go to 512kbps UL???

^ Airtel uses modems for connectivity. Modems don't require port forwarding.
You're good.
who says no modems need no port forwarding...? ? ;)
havent used many of their modems..but 220bx...NEEDS port forwarding to open up ports..

Every connection needs port forwarding, but that's on the router side. You have to call up the isp to do that if you don't use a router.

Never heard of on-hands port forwarding on a modem. They don't route traffic, just push packets.

Or not...
