Bharti Airtel has filed a police complaint at Gurgaon against a person/persons, who was running an e-mail campaign ‘Oppose Airtel from misleading consumers’ to malign the company.

“On going through the contents of the email, it is evident that the sender of the email desires to malign Bharti Airtel’s brandname by initiating a motivated complaint for the services provided by Bharti Airtel, Idea and Vodafone to TRAI,” the company said in a first information report (FIR) to Gurgaon police . BusinessLine has a copy of the FIR, which was filed on February 3. The company also said that such attempts were made to not only malign and damage the brand name Bharti Airtel, but also ‘benefiting our competitor in the telecom industry’.

Airtel in the FIR alleged that around 3,000 mails were sent from an email id – info@techaajkal.com, which was relatively new and registered as recently as January 9 and further investigation by the company revealed that an attempt to conceal the details of the owner of the website were also made.

“On further internal investigation, we found that the domain ‘mailer1.techaajkal.com’ has a digital certificate registered in the name of ‘shailendra@vaishnaviit.in’. It was further discovered that the same email address is used for obtaining digital certificates for other domains, including the domain mail.jiohomedelivery, com and mail.myawacs.com,” Airtel said in the complaint.

I believe this is a long running joke kinda thing in the TelecomTalk comments sections - AVoID group is a cartel. Which sadly, it is. I will not say that Jio is doing this either out of the goodness of it heart - it's just bizness, after all. Jio saw an opening and used it. Same as Ola and Uber against the rickshaws and taxis which will not take us where we want. Same as GMail which said 25MB is not enough, 1GB is needed. These are all disruptors, and are overall, for the betterment of us people.

Much earlier than TT comments, We started using AVOID way back in 2011. Do these Fuxs think they're the only knowledgeable people in Telecommunications

Yes. Sadly loyal subscriber base.
I for one wouldn't mind Airtel BB availability - I currently pay over 3K for a 8mbps 175GB BSNL BB connection
While there are local ISPs available for cheaper, none are reliable and have really bad contention ratios (= crawl speeds on weekends/evenings).
BSNL is the only acceptable choice even though it is pricey and has at least a few downtimes every month

Airtel BB in general is quite reliable
