http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=M&Category_Code=amddc
ETA is 16/06/05.
The current pricing being as follows
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Dual-Core 512K Per Core 90nm (939) (ETA 6/16) ------------ $579
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Dual-Core 512K Per Core 90nm (939) (ETA 6/16) ------------ $619
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Dual-Core 512K Per Core 90nm (939) (ETA 6/16) ------------ $822
IMHO , the prices are very high.unless these prices come down to $250 ~ $400 levels i would not even think of purchasing it.
@ these Current prices you could built a complete kick-ass venice core system with a high end graphic card.
Intel , on the other end is getting very aggresive with its pricing of 64 bit single and dual core cpu's.
soon cheap 64-bit Celeron cpu's with 256kb cache and 533 fsb, Socket 775, are going to be introduced in the Retail Channels.:O
Okay , Amd dual core cpu's are far superior to Intel's in most of the gaming and other applications but if the prices are not reduced to affordable levels these would be "Dream" products like high-end graphic cards. everybody dreams of owning it but very , very few persons buy it.

I understand Amd's pricing strategy. if they reduce the prices of X2 dual core cpu's then What will happen to their current line of single core amd64 cpu's (venice & San Deigo) ????
I reckon we should expect ,in the near future , some really good deals on the sub- 4000+ amd64 cpu's. meaning not only in the pricing but also in deliberate under clocking of high end single core cpu's to 3000+ ~ 3500+ levels (Remarked) to meet the demand.
4000+ and above will be exclusive to dual core cpu's.
but a sub-4000+ x2 cpu will be sweeter ......hehe
