pretty old news buddy...i guess we have had at least 3-4 threads on the same topic in the last few weeks...amd new prices have already taken effect here...every1 is now waiting for intel cutting the prices of its range of proccys.

Gr8 acc. to them Intel C2d E6600 nearly 10k Gr8 now plan of AMD is dropping if that price will be in India...

Here is a pic of the price sheet :---

EDIT: WTF E6600 lags behind by 6000+ X2 in nearly by a small margin but both at stock and board of AMD will not cost much :S .....Really its very close fight now :P

X2 6000+ = E6600.

E6600 is better in some benches, and 6000+ is better in some.

The prices are awesome.

Id buy a 6600 anyday :P.. The 6000+ wont be overclocking from the already 3 Ghz to like even 3.2 Ghz...

The 6600 will go to like 3 Ghz atleast, and own the 6000+ left right center :D.

^^ Absolutely when OCed E660 ,The 6000+ did not stand up the competition.. Thats why C2D gr8 for ocers as it have more frequency boost :) .....

I like amd's memory controller for am2 though. You can get a bit more out of a smaller oc. I think that the 6000 will probably hit 3.2 with a little effort if you get the right chip. (of course, the e6600 has been known to do that pretty easily)

It's funny, I remember when AMD was the one going for better performance at lower clock speeds. (Athlon xp/64 vs P4) Now AMD has the 3.0Ghz flagship and Intel has a 2.66.

Nice prices .. but the E6600 prices are still going to be a bit high .. anything around 10k's would be more a competition ..

Btw, any idea about the heat issues and power usage of the 6000+... seems like its gonna be hot even at 3.2ghz..

So, Athlon 64 X2 processors selling for about $230 work at the maximum of their potential while the Core 2 Duo CPUs priced about the same allow over 45% of frequency increase as a result of overclocking.

Its a no brainer..for overclockers..the e6600 reigns supreme and is better value for money as u get almost 45% more performance for its price .... the 6000+ in contrast wont let u go far ....its vfm talk is only valid for someone using it at stock speed..else the 6600 rules..:D

I am expecting more price cuts on way from AMD side.

5600 and 6000+ dont look all that bad option to be honest. And with new intel price cuts i am sure AMD will follow again. Will be really nice to see 6000+ in 8-9k range. Will be good option to build cheap yet powerful DC system.

so if you get a e4300/4400 and you need a good ram ...say ddr2 800 , then need a good mobo to jack it up till 3 , plus a cooling (which we still dont get in india) ...how much does this come upto?

or you can get an amdx2 6000+ get a mobo and ram and work...right?

so comparatively what gives?
