AMD Launches New HD 7790 "Bonaire" GPU Priced At $149

AMD has released its new mid-range graphics card HD 7790 which fills the gap between HD 7770 and HD 7850. The HD 7790 is priced in the $149 range.



The HD 7790 is codenamed Bonaire and based on the 28nm Graphics Next Core ( GCN ) architecture.

The HD 7790 comes with DX11.1 support, it has 14 compute units (896 stream processors ) clocked at 1GHz and 1GB GDDR5 memory with 128 bit interface clocked at 6GHz.

The card requires just 5W more power than the HD 7770 ( 85W vs 80W ) but provides up to 50 percent more processing power. It needs single PCI-E 6 pin power connector.

The card will compete with Nvidia GTX 650 Ti which also lies in same price range.
