In a well planned move AMD cut down prices of it's key processor lineup. The move coincided with the introduction of new mobile sempron cpu's.
This is a great news for all system builders and even soho user's. This price cut would only bound to increase the problems for rival intel, which is already reeling from amd's onslaught.
Note : All prices are for cpu's sold in batches of 1000, also a 0 in the list signifies no change in price.

Introducing Mobile Sempron :
The new Mobile Sempron is the 3400+, aimed at "full-size notebooks", and it's priced at $114, $1 above the old price of the previous top-of-the-range model, the 3300+. That chip now costs $104, a reduction of eight per cent. The prices of the 3100+ and 3000+ were also cut, by 9.2 and 11.4 per cent, respectively, to $89 and $78. The 2800+ and 2600+ stay where they are, at $77 and $67, respectively.
The Mobile Semprons for "thin and light notebooks" also saw a couple of price reductions at the top of the line, with the 3300+ falling 6.4 per cent to $117 and the 3100+ dropping 10.1 per cent to $89. The rest of the family saw no price cuts.
TechEnclave Tip :
There are rumours floating around about a price increase in the Opteron range of processors, this cannot be confirmed as amd on it's part has declined to comment on any such move. Until it is either confirmed or denied we can safely assume there will not be a price increase.
