I recently bought the Galaxy S I9000 GT and it came factory installed with Gingerbread 2.3. I am trying to install Voodoo on it. I have copied the update.zip file on to the root of the sdcard (phone memory) in \sdcard\update.zip. As per the instructions, I reboot and click update.zip to start the installation, the installation aborts with an error message "E:Signature verification failed..Installation aborted"

I am following the instructions to the T but I just can't figure out why this is happening. I googled a bit and found that my ROM Manager is version 3e, and it should be 2e. To get that version, I need to go back to Froyo, which I really don't want to do. Is there any other way, I can get the Voodoo goodness installed on my phone?:(

you have to root the phone for free version of VOODOO to work.. only the paid version works with un-rooted phones..

you do know what is rooting right?? if so then you have to ROOT the device!!!
Yes, I do know what is rooting. But what you should know is this.
I don’t want to root my phone. Am I able to use Voodoo anyway?
Absolutely. Rooting is reserved to power users knowing the risks involved.
None of the installation methods described require that you root your Galaxy S.
Note that in current beta2, a superuser binary is included to help debugging purposes; it won’t be the case in final builds.
Here's the link where I picked this from. FAQ | Project Voodoo, Galaxy S improvements

Could you please tell me the version of recovery you are using? I assume this is a known issue with 3e recovery. You may have to use 2e recovery which allows you to flash unsigned zips

Kevin: I suppose its only for the i9000 and its variants, Tab and transformer. Galaxy 3 sound hardware is completely different.

4nd3r50n: I am sorry I saw you have already posted the info in the first post.To get back 2e recovery on your phone , you would have to root the phone. Because either to get Recovery 2e or modified 3e to flash unsigned zip root is needed, I am sorry. But there is an option to flash the Voodoo kernel using Odin
