need a running-between-couch-to-loo portable notebook for occasional designing..

budget no issue as such but don't want to exceed 70k..

purpose - design, coding, presentation and entertainment..

confused like hell between - weight n size or screen size..

n yeah - good looks of the laptop is a must.. :)

so help me help me help me help me help me help me..

PS - i know this discussion has happened millions of time here.. i have gone through all those threads.. but no one needs a couch to loo laptop for design n coding..

:)

for that kinda moolah, get the macbook.

nah. macbook is heavy for its size and gets really dirty and pale after sometime.. have seen it.. also, its scratch prone..

yeah mac air is good.. but way too expensive..

i was thinking of hp tx2000.. but i guess its not available in india yet..

or

dell xps.. now should it be m1330 or 1530.. cos 1530 has a really great screen real estate with 15.4" and highest screen resolution of 1610X1050..

but again, have seen neither of them personally. so can't decide which one is ideal "compromise" or "fit" for occasional design on move and presentation purpose..

i know its going to be a compromise only somewhere for either portability or screen real estate.. but which one to opt..???

what does this mean written on dell site for XPS 1530 -

"The XPS M1530 also provides plenty of other visual surprises, including dual-monitor and picture-in-picture capability" ???

is the 1680X1050 screen resolution too small to read?? never seen such a resolution on a 15.4" personally.. is that too small??

no its kinda gud enuff....dual moniter...well u can use the exra output port to extend ur display on anoder device say a tv.. ..

that means its not the same display i will get on the laptop monitor and another monitor hooked to the lappy?? it shall be like extention of the laptop display like in dual monitor setups..??

and if 1680X1050 is not that tiny.. so i think m1530 should be purchased with this screen resolution only...

i think m1530 is ideal for everything i want to do.. except i could fold it into half n make it smaller whenever i wished..

when do we get such laptops?? lol

anyhow.. i am on the verge of compromising the portability of m1330 (not to mention the led screen) with better performance n screen resolution of m1530..

am i turning towards a wise choice..?? hit me hard.. i don''t understand easily..:bleh: :bleh:

Acer 6920 (16.4" LCD.. 320gb HD..512mb graphics nvidia 9500gs) and 8920(18"LCD) are coming.

Launched in bangalore last week.

@70k and 80k .. (as seen on some sites on internet).

tx2000 shall come soon though.. u might as well wait for it.. or else choose between either of the xps models available in india..

desining on move can be done on both the lappes.. i.e m1330 n 1530.. its just so how often n much u want to design on move..

please advice me on this last thing which is bugging me..

does 1680X1050 resolution on xps 1530 is too tiny to show presentation (with text) to someone?? if i won't have a projector n have to show on laptop only..

is it wise to go for 1400X900 resolution? and having said that should i wait for LED screen to come in 1400X900 resolution which is due any time now..??

if anyone can clarify this little more presicely???

so 1680X1050 is a big no no as it makes websites look too small.. or sometimes not readable??

then 1400X900 becomes the sane choice..

is there anyone in TE who owns a XPS 1530 with 1680X1050 resolution??

nah vaios are over priced.. although they deserve that price they have that brand name on them.

but right now my concern is to get responses from TE memebers that if i should venture in getting a 1680X1050 resolution for XPS 1530??

really concerned about it.. cos with this resolution they are giving ultra sharp screen and any resolution lower to this doesn;t get ultra sharp..

but again, will it be too tiny and disproportionate to view websites and read stuff on it with this high resolution or the sane choice is 1400X900??

someone who has XPS 1530 with 1680X1050 resoltuion can help here..??

so clearly 1680X1050 is not the right choice.. i should rather stick to 1400X900 resolution..

but now my concern is if XPS 1530 with 1400X900 resolution is a good screen at all..

i am now tilting towards XPS m1330.. cos of the option of LED screen and i think 13.3" is also not too tiny to design occationally..

are there any m1330 owners who design occationally with photoshop, flash or code using dreamweaver.??
