Laptops Any temperature Monitoring tools for P4?

I have a Acer TravelMate 2500 laptop. It has started shutting down every few hours , and i believe the problem is the heat. It has a P4 2.8GhZ Cpu. Now i tried using coretemp and realtemp. Both have no support for this proccy. Everest is stuck on 74 degrees , even after i verified the Lappy was cool. Any tools that can monitor the temp in the range of +/- 5 degrees ? Also , any tools that can help me control fan speeds ??
 
speedfan works fine for P4 and also helps with fan control.as for your current temps maybe everest is right,the notebook proccys are sopecced to run at high temps afterall.
 
The problem is that everest is stuck at 74 degrees , even if i have started the lappy after 2 hours of letting it cool down.
