i have the exact same model with a fan on the back side. was there a non fan model of it?

mine just starts for few seconds after i powering on the ups. so not a problem for me. also i cleaned it which made it more quieter.

I still use the same model. The fan is super annoying and ridiculously loud. And the worst part is the fan keeps on running for like 10 mins even after you switch off the load from the UPS during power cut.

You can enable fanless mode by lodging a toothpick or a q-tip in it.

Also you can correct its german engineering.

Honestly I would advise against jamming things into the fan. The fan motor doesn't take it well and it may get damaged.

This 5mm tiny fan, running on 24V at bazillion RPM makes you suicidal, it wakes your whole family up in the middle of night. I really hope it does get damaged.
