Apple has started the mass production if its iPad Mini which is rumored to be unveiled on October 17th event .
According to report by WSJ , Apple has ordered more than 10 million units of the new iPad Mini for fourth quarter 2012 . The 10 million units order for the iPad Mini is roughly double of the units ordered by Amazon for its highly successful Kindle Fire tablet and direct competitor to the iPad Mini along with the Google Nexus 7.
The iPad Mini is rumored to have a 7.85 inch display with lower resolution than 3rd gen iPad , which means that it might now have a retina display , which may be possible to keep the costs low , below 300$ .
