Many will ask why 7970

- On paper the card is much more powerful than the GTX 680. Right now drivers are holding it back

- Faster in apps with complicated shaders - eg Metro 2033, AvP etc

- Demolishes the 680 in OpenCL which matters to me as this card was primarily bought for some advanced development

- Non nerfed OpenGL drivers for professional apps - NV forces you to buy a quadro these days and artificially throttles OpenGL performance. No such tricks from ATI.

Yup, Im sure the 8800s were getting boring. Overclock yet?

Weird pricing on the GTX680, its supposed to be lower than the 7970! Hope its a launch aberration.
 
Reminds me of the evga 2 x 8800 Ultra show off thread of yours! Many congrats although I doubt how much gaming can you do these days ever since you've settled down.
