CPU/Mobo ASUS A7N266-VM USB Ports not working

My son's comp is-MB-ASUS A7N266-VM- NVidia Nforce 220D- 512 MB DDR Ram + ATI Video Card 9600 + Processor Athlon Socket A-2000+.& Network Card. Since some time all the USB ports have stopped working. He is studying in Pune, please suggest a solution !- is it hardware or software? Any good H/W Software guy in Pune ? component level repairers in Pune/Mumbai? Or Asus Service centre in Pune/Mumbai
 
se to it ..tht the USB drives are installed..and working properly..next if u r checking using pendrive or sumthing..seee tht all the services related to USB functioning are enabled (in run type services.msc)...see if mass storage and other dependencies are enabled...maybe this helps...or if u r not sure..troubleshooting u r self..get some guy who will charge anywhere between 150-250 per visit ..there are some professionals..who call themselves as PC doctors..!
 
just get a pci usb card na, as it is the a7n266 vm has usb1 u can get a four port usb 2 card for approx 200-300
 
No use. I have the same exact problem. Both the front as well as back USB ports wont work. It wont recognize any hardware i attach to it. Just get an extendable USB ports that fit in those expansion slots (ie PCI USB card), it will cost u 150-300.
