Introduction

I never had hands on any sound cards. I do hear a music but it doesn’t mean that I am an audiophile
I had read some where in Forums that soundchip on Board is same as your onboard graphic support ,no great performance while Sound card is same as your Gcard ,the Beast .So finally made up my mind to get one for me .May be I will like to thanks Greeny who appreciated this card so much which made me to get one for PC .
So finally got one after long wait of 3 weeks ,may be i was the first person in india to get this card from ASUS with ASUS india warranty etc. :P
anyways let continue to our next part .....
[BREAK=Box Packing]
BOX packing :
As the card arrived after 3 weeks of my order , i was very excited when I got it .It got some flab like thing in its upper cover flashing the card information and other stuff. For me that really doesn’t matter. What matter is what i buy should be worth. Cards was coated in antistatic bag same as your motherboard is kept in. It contained the CD drivers etc but instead i downloaded the latest drivers from there website .Let the Pictures describe about box packing etc

Xonar DX specs
Feature List
• Audio Processor: ASUS AV100
• PCI-Express x1
• Max Channels Supported: 7.1
• Max Sampling Rate: 24-bit/192kHz
• EAX level: "5"
• Dolby Home Theatre Technologies
• ASIO 2.0
• ALT (Analogue Loopback Transformation) Technology
• Front Panel audio header
• SNR: 116dB front, 112dB side, centre and rear
• Analogue 3.5mm audio jacks and optical S/PDIF

The ASUS Xonar DX card is powered by what amounts to Cirrus Logic Oxygen HD chip, dubbed the ASUS AV100. It wields a pair of Cirrus Logic digital-to-analog converters for its analog output: the CS4398 for the front pair, and the CS4362A for side, rear, and center subwoofer outputs. Asus is better kitted with its Cirrus Logic CS5361 which supports a higher frequency range of up to 24-bit/192KHz and a better SNR of 112dB compared to the XtremeGamer’s Wolfson Electronics WM8775 which is only 24-bit/96KHz at 102dB SNR. DX a perfect solution for those who don’t wish to make sacrifices while building a small media pc. With gold plated connections and a sleek black PCB along with in-line capacitors it is certainly a very striking piece of hardware. Even the back plate (including the optional low profile bracket) are anodised in gun metal grey which only adds to the impressive visuals of the card. heart of the DX, the AV100 processing unit. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is anything other than C-media’s Oxygen HD audio chip though, not that it’s to its detriment.
The AV100 is rumoured to be a ‘speed-binned’ AV200 processor which is also used in the DX2. As the Oxygen – sorry – AV100 was not designed to use PCIe there is also another chip onboard from PLX which Asus have utilised as a bridging chip enabling the card to use the PCIe as standard rather than the bandwidth limiting PCI interface. The Xonar DX Audio Center is the brains of the card where you control all the settings and configurations to your preference. In its most basic form you can change the output volume along with ‘SVN’ which is a noise balancing feature and the obligatory mute button. There are also five DSP modes which change the acoustics of the card depending on what type of media you are working with, music, Hi-Fi, Movie, Game and GX.

Very nice and compact review.

I really wish I could say that for the effort you have taken here.
Everything was going fine, with the few grammatical erors and spelling mistakes, until I read page 4 of this review. All of a sudden the writing style takes a 'U' turn.

Every statement on that page except the last one is a word to word copy from other online reviews. Google works wonders. Please add the links to your article as references.
