CPU/Mobo At last nVidia and Intel agree on SLI

the nf200 chip is just to increase the number of x16 pci-e lanes more than the default amount supported by the mobo. it is not required to get SLI certification.

the only difference now is instead of manufacturers submitting each board and getting SLI certification by paying a certification fee, all P67 boards are recognised as 'SLI enabled' by default. but still manufacturers need to use the nf200 chip if they need to increase the amount of x16 pci-e lanes.

in short SLI is going the crossfire way.

hurrah....now we can enjoy sli as well as crossfire capability on high end intel chipset boards without paying the big price premium. I mean if u look at the x58 boards, the ones without the NF200 chip usually costs around 50-70 $ less than the ones with it. Lets hope this enables big vendors to price P67 boards at a relatively affordable 150-200$

I meant it sarcastically that even 2-way SLI on the upcoming Sandy Bridge mobos is being spread virulently all around the web world like it's like new uber cool tech like light peak :P:P:P
Oh... My bad :P
