ATI has pulled a rabbit out of hat and in a brilliant marketing strategy has priced it's Radeon x1900 range lower than the nvidia's 7800 GTX 512, although the x1900 range is faster than nvidia's 78xx series.
Ati has revealed the prices of the Radeon X1900 XTX, XT & Crossfire X1900 XT. Ati has priced them lower than rival nvidia's Geforce 7800 GTX 512. Nvidia's Suggested retail price for the 7800 GTX 512 was $649 but most of the cards are selling for much more. USA based Newegg wants $749.00 for those cards.
Also, the nvidia prices have been inflated due to scarcity of cards so ati is hitting the nail on the head by pricing The fastest X1900XTX card clocked at 650MHz core and 1500MHz memory at $649. The second fastest X1900XT should cost $549 while the Crossfire X1900 XT card should cost around $599 in retail.
ATI clearly wants to get some money out of these cards as they are faster than their Nvidia counterparts and ATI is shipping them in quantities as we speak.
ATI is getting very close to taking over the performance dominance, at least till Nvidia ships its long-awaited G71. That one has the chance to take the power back to Nvidia but till then it will be X1900 XTX time.

3dmark scores show up for X1900XTX & Crossfire X1900XTX cards.
The numbers look very good for ATI.
This card punts a GeForce 7800GTX/512 around by a rather large margin, 1000 points and outscores it's own sibling, the X1800 line by more than 1500. A single card, without tuning the heck out of the box, virus scanner running and all scores a hair under 11000.
The Crossfire rig is similarly 'stupid fast' running much closer to 14000 than 13000 with a similar GeForce 7800GTX/512 sli.
So, looks like ATI has a winner on his hand with respect to both price and performance, a tough combo to beat, nvidia better buckle up.

Update :
Distributor prices for the upcoming X1900 cards
AIW X1900 to be priced to cost $529.
Official name of the new AIW card is All in Wonder X1900 PCIe 256MB. Support's 256MB only.
The Radeon X1900 Crossfire edition PCIe 512MB card is priced at $650.00.
The second-fastest Radeon X1900, the XT PCIe 512MB card is listed at $604 while the fastest Radeon X1900 XTX PCIe 512MB is listed for $742.00.
Taking into account some distributor's charging a premium, we can safely predict the retail prices to settle down in this range in near future.
So to sum it up, Ati has just landed the first punch on Nvidia.

Update :
ATI ships first batch of 10,000 X1900 cards.
The interesting part is that about 60% or roughly 6000 cards belong to its flagship product, the X1900 XTX cards - the fastest in X1900 series.
Until the Nvidia G71 cards arrive, the X1900 series rules the roost.
ATI has a clear winner in it's hand and now also in the stores.
