Audigy value worth it?

Will there be a distinct improvement in sound quality in games and mp3s if I get the audigy value over the onboard SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio? At Rs 1600/-, it sounds very tempting. I have the altec lansing 251 speakers.

@greenie: I beg to differ, had the Smax onbaord, problema aplentia!

it stutters during simple i/o interrupts like kb/mouse movements. A little constant hiss is always noticeable.

The so called puny audigy value is a discreet card in the end and if not any significant improvement in SQ, it does offer a way out of these nagging issues mentioned above.

@OP: If you ain't facing these issues mentioned (may be thanks to ur MB maker) then heed greenoes advice, if yes and it does irritate you, go get the audigy.

There is no stutter or hiss in my audio setup. Will the audigy 4 or audigy2 zs give a better SQ with my current speakers?
