Hi everyone,
AC 09 is the best cricket game out there and after 2 patches the game has become a lot harder. But with use of smart shots in the gaps and patience one can still score big runs:hap2:. By big i mean Brian Lara's Record Breaking big.:bleh::bleh: I build up my confidence in the start and once my batsman wa fearless i gone berserk on the bowlers but still paid respect to good deliveries. Result, see for yourself:eek:hyeah::eek:hyeah: My Custom Batsman scored mammoth 600+ score in his 4th test match while Sachin Scored a 200+ notout ,raina and Gambhir scored 100+ scores. I declared coz i was getting bored of batting but i kept the savegame so i can prolong that score:p







 
Hard mode dude. I think it must be the fact that i was playing in kolkata which is a batsman paradise. plus i was batting sensibly in the start to build confidence and gone berserk after 25 overs. Would post scorecard of aussi inning tomorrow when i complete match as follow on for australia is on the cards at the moment.

The game is still difficult if you play on brisbane or lords under overcast conditions.
 
Well there werent that bad. Take Viru, Yuvi and Zaheer out of any team and that team bound to struggle(take Ponting,Johnson,Hussey out of aussie team and se how they would perform). Now Viru and yuvi are back so we can expect a better performace against Aussies in 7 match ODI series.

You were very patient till 25 overs and still sehwag was able to score 619 in 203 balls. He must have whacked almost every ball to the boundry after your patient period. And 31 sixes :S?

Too bad, I was about to buy this game :(.. but I guess theres no challenge here.
 
Well lemme explain how i build my innings. By staying calm for 25 overs i meant that i didnt played a single lofted shot. I played only grounded shots and that too in accordance with the swing. Like if it is a outswinger on off stump then i drived it through mid off. if it is slightly outside offstump then i cover drived it, if it is wider then i drived it through point. Whenever AI didnt set anyone at third slip and thirdman was wide(or short third man is used) i used late cut to get easy four runs. I had to accept that i score almost 80 percent of my runs on off side . So i almost played the shot which should be played according to the game code. Hence i scored so big. One thing which needs to be corrected is that it is very easy to slog straight back to bowler's head once batsman is fearless. If AI had placed a fielder straight between long on and long off then sachin wouldn't have scored his 200 in this match. If i were playing against my frined in multiplayer mode then he would have set a fielder there. Moreover the game is not so easy in multiplayer mode. Most of the matches i had with my friends were low scoring thrillers and i had scored just 2 centuries in over a dozen of matches. And my highest team total was 287 allout. If you want really hard simulation of the game then play at Brisbane with overcast weather,Strong wind and dukes ball. You just cannot survive slogging. I was bowled out by my friend for just 46 runs at brisbane. If you want to have some fun and want a hing scoring match then play at Harrare. It is such a small ground that mistimed shots go for six.

P.S: this is not the first time i had murdered AI. I had earlier pawned NZ in a 5 over match against India. culprit was Maccullum who dropped tendulkar in 3rd over(though tendulkar had scored 50 by then). You can watch the video of that match here YouTube - Ashes Cricket 09: India Vs NZ Part 1

Lets just say it was my determination that i score over 1000 runs. I just got off my bed and thought " lets beat the crap outta aussies and score over 1000 runs". And i did exactly that by limiting my strokeplay to coverdrives, leg glances, lofted straight drives, late cuts to third man reagion and occational stepping down the track. If i had played the way i normal does then i wouldnt have scored over 300 runs. Moreover AI wasnt setting the field right, a human opponent would keep the fielders where i was scoring thus it is more fun in multiplayer. There was a instance for continous ten overs where AI had noone protecting cover boundary and none inside the circle at covers too. So i just had to loft in covers to get atleast 4. I get two sixes or one six and one 4 for before AI blocked that region(but let it loose again at the start of next over). So this way i get 10 or 12 easy runs at the start of over and then knock around here and there to get 17 or 18 an over. When there was someone at the covers the AI had no thrid man or wide third man so i just late cut even lenght or full balls in that region for four. AI generally blocks that area after 3 or 4 fours. Thus thats where i get runs then.

It was like Sachin's 241* effort at sydney where he didnt played a single cover drive coz he was getting out playing that shot in previous matches. I lost my first wicket mistiming a flick straight to the square leg. Somehow i am crap playing flick on the leg side so more often then not i play it in he air. Hence i score almost 85 or 90% runs on the off side. Only balls i hit on the leg side were short balls.

Hussey did bowled in test cricket. Remember last year when Aussie came?? Hussey bowled good 8 to 10 overs in the afternoon session when indian team was on the mat. Punter was criticized heavily for this.
Point of this thread : Just to have fun at the expense of miserable Aussie's :p (anyway we can) lol
 
Aussie are in a spot of bother now with both openers gone without reaching the double figures. I'll continue the match later as i got a online match against a convict in 5 min.

I play Ashes Cricket just when i got tired of playing Resident Evil 5 or Arkham Asylum. Had i played it all the time score would have been in 4 digits:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
