Forum Feedback Auto Subscription?

Most of the forums I know have the feature of auto subscription, ie., the moment you make a post in a thread, you're subscribed to that thread, which can then be viewed in the user cp. Even the age old forums have this feature.

So what is wrong with this forum? You have to manually subscribe each and every time you make a post? Really..? What kind of a forum is this? I'm surprised people aren't bothered by this, like they accept everything thrown at them with closed eyes.

PS: And the irony, I have to manually use subscribe now to follow this thread of mine. Oh great ffs!

We will look into this suggestion of yours. Kindly give us some time. We are still busy fixing some bugs we have missed here and there during updates. Someone will get back to you with an explanation in due time.

Please no auto subscription. One big PITA. Why do forums have to do what others forums do? There are many things this forum has that many don't- we are talking about Indian tech forums. How hard can it be to move your mouse over thread tools and subscribe for it?

Most of the forums I know of also have a User CP.

Look for 'Edit Options' and you should see this :

Maybe using a better and more polite tone would help.

+1 with Sorcerer. No need for auto-subscription to be left ON as default. Those who want the feature can do so in their CP as shown by CE above.

@others, maybe you haven't gotten into as many forums as you would like to believe, its not a question of whether can your move you mouse or not, its basics, convenience.

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the *option* to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

There is nothing WRONG with the forums. We have some customizations here which we have decided after running the forums for a while. There are some defaults. One doesn't go about comparing one site to another as all sites are different.

As far as your question is concerned, the answer by Crazy Eddy details what we understand from your post. See the image carefully - read the text, its self explanatory.

And just incase you missed it, theres an option to subscribe to the thread BEFORE you post a new thread or a reply. Scroll down a bit and you shall see the drop down.

I am sorry, but if you are only going to listen to what the admin says, then you my friend, havent been to as many forums as you claim to have been. Have respect for the staff and mods. See how many sites tolerate the tone of yours. If you still have issues, PM one of the mods with a link to the image posted by Crazy Eddy.
