doesnt make a diff for me.............but i do belive everyone is equal...... :) and should be treated equally......
 
i still dont understand the problem.

The username, location details bar can be as big as 144 pixels. So it does not matter.........

Its gona be 144 pixels on 800x600 or any other resolutions, its gona be there in anyone's face. And if avatar is fithing that then it does not matter what resolution you have.

If its not changing board layout, not putting extra burdain on bandwidth then why not? Thats the question. And default avatars are bigger anyway.....

I still dont get it why this fuzz is about, when board layout is there to support 100x100 then whats the problem!!!!!!!!!!

And XT yes people with unique avatars get identified by avatars as well ;)

And if some people dont wana see out avatars then atleast i dont think everyone should be stuck at 80x80 for that reason. Thats that person's choice, he does not want to see avatar, he can block it, switch it off, do whatever he wants.

Size is not issue, BW is not issue, layout is not issue then what is the issue?
 
yeah I agree with Saiyan on this....

Give the mods some extra perks for spending so much of time and energy on TE.....

I dont know what else I can add to this discussion here. My post will probably get deleted.

but I would not mind bigger avatars. IT would be really good.

Though to me, siggy size would be more useful :P I dont use avatars much anyway. I started using avatars during the bollywood villains week :P
 
Lol, trust me, im on TE more than the Mods... That means i should also get 100*100 Avatars? Lol.

one more thing..why have animated gifs suddenly stopped working for avatars?

You'll say that they take long to load..okay that may be true for bigger file size..

Mods,I suggest that you keep the file size constraint intact..we'll take the pains to reduce the pic quality to match the file size..but i think animated gifs shud be allowed for avatars..wot say? :)

Look, my GIF sig loads as fast as any normal jpg SIG ..:)
 
Yeah and even 'regular' members cannot be offered stuff like 100x100 avatars and custom titles..

Almost every top-tech forum (Read : EOCF, XS, etc.) offers such things to members with over just 100 posts and those with even 2-3k aren't getting anything but a nuclear tag...:no:

well if u want me to count out the no of good post that u made, i can count these on one hand

about the guys at other forums, those guys have all high end stuff including internet connection in mbps, so they wont care about it.

we are still discussing the issue here, and wait for us to get to a conclusion instead of coming here and dissing.

even if we do allow 100x100 Avtars, what makes u think ke next members wont demand for bigger sigs, custom tags, user edit and the list goes on.....
 
@anish as rave puts it once you get 100*100 avatars then they will ask for others too. so its better to have 80*80 and anyway people are generally known by their names and not by their pictures i think its time this whole issue was ended

we wont ask for anything else & just because you can have a bigger avatar you cannot forget us.

you mods keep 150x150 we dont care just give us 100x100 please.

your default gallery has bigger avatars than 100x100 too.

Just by looking down upon 'members' don't try to justify your points.

As for counting posts, could you even think of how many of your posts were actually made in the open forums ?

I have nothin' against you but please watch what your saying next time...
 
yeah I agree..... most of us are jsut average members with bit of knowledge. We gain more.

We mainly visit TE to just have a good time and if that means posting more for fun and timepass then, so be it.....

There are very few people who can post that many "good posts". Chaos, DJ, bottle, to name a few....

Everyone posts OT stuff and basically, we end up having a good time here. Can you imagine how boring and dull this place would be if we did not hae afew OT posts and some fooling around :P

Anyway, we are going OT talking abt OT posts.... :P

Getting back to the topic....

Yeah, I would like bigger avatars... but now, I guess everyone has siad everything there is to be said :P

Upto the admins to decide. They know the practical problems with this. But I guess we are unanimous that most of us dont mind the extra badnwidth it uses up.

the point is that we are just members.... we have no idea what happens behind the scenes, how difficult it is to manage a website when you have your own life to deal with as all you guys are doing.

So, the decision is upto you guys.....

Even if you dont give us the bigger avatars or siggies, no one is going to leave TE(Well, Switch I guess wil go and become regular on thinkdigit :P ).

well true, the posts before mine and replies from many other clearly stated that its being discussed and will come out with a conclusion, still people come and diss and crub, International forums provide the same coz as ive said, almost all of those guys have all the latest high end stuff ( read dell 2005 fpw :P) and internet connection starting in Mbps, so taking a sec more to load a page for them wont matter much, but we on the other hand are a budding site with no financial backup, so we have to make sure people are at ease browing the site, its not only the members, but the guests that also matter, and to be frank, me as well as any of you wont visit a site that is slow unless ofcource its offering u know what. Many guests access TE from cybercafes, and u know the state of cyber cafes, atleast i know the state of it over here, one 128k line taken and shared between 10-15 connections, and 15" monitors supporting max of 800x600 resolution.

regarding my posts in the public, well i dont post, as simple as that coz i get a complex seeing the guys over here who knows so much more than what i do, so i just take pleasure in reading the posts by them and adding to my database, ofcource i do post once in a while if its necessary (like here :P )
if someone can do a better job then me/us, you are most welcome to try and if someone has something against me, you are most welcome to post in the feedback section or contact any of the Admins.
