Hi,
I have a huge huge collection of data (mostly 700 mb files) which i want to preserve for later viewing. Now with the paradigm shift from DVD to HDD and HDD to smaller HDD, i want to reconsider which should be the best option to store them.
Until now i had been using DVD as my main storage solution. However i switched to 2 one TB WD external HDD for the last few month's storages.
Now, since i would need to invest more on products as my current storage capacity is nearly exhausted, please suggest which options should i go for
1. 3.5 inch or 2 inch
2. sets of 1 tb drives or 2 tb drives (obviously no 2 tb in 2.5 inch now
3. usb 2 interface or usb 3 interface
i dont want to backup data to double the cost. if lost, i can rebuild the collection. however i would like to keep reliability as a high factor while investing on the drives.
At present i have 2 one TB WD 3.5 inch external + one 250 GB 2.5inch maxtor portable. I am looking to store around 4TB data.
Please suggest. along with model numbers (its been a while i went around lammy)
Regards
