Hi
will be getting a canon camera next week. Please suggest the best storage option in case I buy an additional memory card.

What does your camera support? And by best you mean data integrity? If yes save the images on your computer..

The camera seems to support all of these SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, MMCplus, HC MMCplus. I was considering long life/better quality and value for money chip.
 
The main difference between the said cards, is memory. So if you are not doing a lot of video recording a 16Gb Class 10 SDHC card should suffice..
