Very Good on-board speakers, audio capabilities in general

Good performance when connected to a projector/ext. display

Atleast 2gb of ram and 200gb HD..

For Looks: VAIO (Maybe dell too except XPSs).
And for VFM: DELL

What is the VAIO model?

something that hopefully fits into the budget..
but i'm gonna convince her to stay away from a VIAO coz its just not VFM..

yeah even the artisitic editions are largely available still. Configs like C2D 2.3ghz and 3 gigs of ram are standard on those models.

i got the inspiron 1525 white. Its really good if you are keen on gaming on it. It does any work thrown at it. Sureshot VFM. Now, if you are a keen on moderate gaming DELL STUDIO is the way to go my friend.. HP is equally good but not really sure of the service here in india.

Yep, its got the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT...
not sure bout the price, guessing <60k ...

the 1015 was for 65k i have my doubts about this being under 60k please let me know just in case. i am finding a lappie since ages as well but nothing fits my budget. how long before dell and hp bring out c2 in all their laptops. to wait end of the year or take the plunge now itself?

Dude, the Studio 15 is much better than the Inspiron 1525 !
3GB Ram,faster proc,better display..
And as far as graphics is concerned, the Studio 15 can be customized with the 256mb ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 module in lieu of the Intel X3100..

Making the studio 15 a better buy if there's no budget constraint..

And HP has been here longer than Dell has and its spares are easily available..service is not an issue either..

On the contrary,Dell has no approachable service centre as such..u need to send it back to them to get it repaired or call their engineer!
