hi,

apart from direct media to media copying, which is the best method to copy a cd/dvd content to a blank media (when using a harddisk in between) -

a) creating an image of the CD to the hdd and then use a burning software like nero to copy, or

b) select all the contents of the cd/dvd and copy it to a new folder in the hdd and then copy it to the blank media using relevant software.

my opinion is creating an image is a better solution.

what do the guru's have to say about it.

reason i'm asking is cause sometimes we dont have blank media readily available with us for direct copying. so in such situation we have use the hdd as a temporary storage for the contents of the cd/dvd.

Yep I do agree ISO's are better :) Using Mounting software like daemon toll is worth with an ISO :) It just give you an option what a CD can provide but with no scratches :P

I had written this a long time ago.

- Create Image using Alcohol.

- Keep it as image file only

- Mount it using Alcohols Virtual Drive.

- Burn the image using Alcohol if required.

I wud suggest to keep the iso/mdf/bincue files as it is and burn them on the dvd as that files only.

When required mout them from the dvd using alcohol.

I m strictly against Daemon Tools as it contains some spyware/adware or some crap.

Use Alcohol , its paid but its way better than DT.

My View Only

^^^ Iso is the Best Format For Images Beats Nero's Nrg & Alcochol's Mdf & Clone Cd's Ccd

Use ImgBurn In Read Mode... Bulids Fantastic Images
