Graphic Cards Black screen in COD 5

Recently i moved from Windows Vista x86 to Windows 7 and very happy with its ease of use and performance. Yesterday i

installed latest 185.85 WHQL drivers and trying to play COD 5 but it just shows black screen and nothing else. I tried playing

crysis warhead and feels its too stuttering. I tried to clean install using driver cleaner n reinstalling drivers but still not done. I m

using 9600GT and had no issues playing earlier.

Anybody facing same issues??
 
Cod 5 is known to have problems already. many ppl have not managed to get it working. there are updates and patches you can try.

For me cod5 worked when I installed the ahem version on windows 7 x64 I couldn't get the original working in win 7. Also nfs most wanted I couldnt get working in windows 7.
 
sure u talkin abt same resolution in crysis b4 n after u changed screen?? :)

abt cod5... look for patches released.
 
^^ I played crysis warhead after changing screen n at 1600x1024 resolution and it was working fine without stuttering.
 
even most wanted doesnt work for me on vista x64...have u tried to change the shortcut to "bla bla bla" -dx9 ???...it worked for crysis but most wanted doesnt......it should work for cod5 too...
 
The game has lots of issues.

One way to make it run is to drop the sound quality. (Worked for me)

Taken from the internets....

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. The click on “Hardware and Sound”
  3. Click on “Sound”
  4. Doble click on “speakers”
  5. go to the Advanced tab
  6. Set the default format to “24 Bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)”
  7. Thats it!
