Want advice on which b.p. monitor to buy for home use. My uncle wants one and has asked me to source something good. Budget would be Max 1.5k I think
Saw some on eBay but not sure of them.
Are those digital LCD types good or do they have drawbacks?

All bp monitors are mildly inaccurate and the reading depends very largely on the kind of fit that you get.

Upper arm devices are better than wrist devices because you can get the measuring point and the heart on the same level without jumping through hoops. They are also more expensive.

I bought a Rossmax wrist device from Healthkart. I usually average three readings unless they happen to differ significantly. And I don't recommend that site, they took too long to get the product to me.

Just wondering if the semi auto one you purchased has any indications onscreen for the inflation & deflation of the cuff. I'm just confused about how a user knows how much of the inflation is correct.

No indication as such. But you have to make it as tight as possible in the shortest amount of time and then leave the pump. The device will then release the pressure automatically and auto calculate both Systolic and Diastolic readings.

Many thanks for the clarification.
So is there any additional benefit that the semi-auto offers over the fully auto one? Pricewise, there isn't much of a difference.

^Can't help in comparing though. Somebody else to have used both the auto and semi-auto can say better

I have the Omron one with battery stuff. I bought it off fk for 1500. good one. you measure 3 times and the average reading is accurate. and the batteries last a lifetime.
