BSNL billing on NU plans

Before I took the famous 500C plan from BSNL, I wondered how they measure the bandwidth if I log in before 8 AM and log out after 8 AM. There were only two options : 1. Either they charge for the whole session if I log out after 8AM. Or 2. They start counting after 8AM. Almost every member here wrote about the 1st one. So I experimented a few days and attached are the results.

Looks like they invented a 3rd option. They don't charge if I log in before 8AM. :p

P.S. - The total usage for the experimented sessions was kept low intentionally. I'll try with a bigger download on the last day of this month. :)

You checked it again :) thats cool. any screenshots of time from 1:50 to say morn 6 or 7 with a large dl and charged for only from 1:50 - 2 ?

hey i think i'm not supppose to take risk with that

once i had logged in at 1.45am and then worked for 25 minutes and started the download

at 2.10am ............stoppped it at 7.45am.

i saw my account usage and 260 mb was added for using between 1.45-2.25:(

it's good that's BSNl have changed their policy and now they don't even show

the usage between (2-8)AM.

usage counts exactly after 8 am and before 2 am

cheers

Before bbservice.bsnl.in was closed, I use to get NUL upto 8:25 or something like that. But gone are the old days. Now it is very precise. Exactly charges you. And are you guys sure that i don't have to start another session to use NUL if i started the session before 2AM?

Here are two screen shots :

I intentionally logged in at 7:58Am and kept the connection for 20/43 minutes. Observe that BSNL has split the usage into free and chargeable. Earlier it used to count zero for the whole session ( refer to the attached images of my first post )

So, at last we don't have to schedule the net connection at 2AM. Rather, we've gotta schedule the download manager / torrent client @ 2:05 :)

Mate,

You stole words out of my mouth ! Even i had a horrific timing figuring out the unit counting system (During night unlimited) of BSNL, finally i have figured out that BSNL server timing are very very erratic ! now i start my download's at 2.20 AM and stop all my downloads just before 8 A.M, No issues since then.

yes, me too doing the same since last 3-4 yrs. i have set up scheduled task for connecting dataone at 2.05 am of my comp time. i found that there is a gap of two min between MS updated time and BSNL server time. for safer side i kept 2.05.

Another BSNL BUG

They calculated perfectly until today 7:58AM. But then they charged me for 11th, 12th and 22nd January.
