Hi All I recently moved from Bangy to Assam...took n internet connection...the only sensible one being bsnl...The only other one available is sify and it really sucks..

Now my problem is that the connection gets disconnected every half hour or so...

What can be the reason..

Hardware..I can get it changed...

Wire problem...I can try to get it changed..

BSNL server prob...can't do nothing..

Get the connections checked.

Catch hold of the line man.

In all the probabilities, its a loose connection somewhere.. happened with me too

Do you know if you have a new modem or an old one? I also started facing the same problem after 3 yrs of normal usage, got the line, splitter etc checked and all, but eventually turned out to be some problem with the modem (Huawei MT800) because replacing it fixed my problem... the old modem itself appeared to be working fine (all lights blinky blinky okay) but...

@ Vishal

What exactly was ur problem ....?

Askin cuz i noticed my friend's connection takes a hell lot of time to establish.

and the ADSL link will keep blinking for so long that he leaves the thing to show up wenever it wd.

Everything was working fine but for the past few days only.

The modem being old one and was working just fine.

The splitter has been checked by using a beetle one but to no effect.

A major problem in my case was the fact that i was using a USB cable rather than ethernet cable to connect my PC to the router/modem .. Hence due to the Overload the connection was reset quite frequently ..
The other time was when there was a problem with the BSNL itself and it lasted a few days ...

Dude I will prefer you to connect your modem In PPPoE mode......

You can get the instructions about your modem, if you give your m odem model no..

Connect your Modem via Etrhernet cable rather than Using USB, Get ALL your wired connection strong, without any loose connection...

Also make sure the the wire which is coming from tower to your house has least joints.... And In case there are joints make sure they are well connected and taped,..... Bcoz sometimes if water get into the wire connection then it cause problem....

See if these things are all well taken care and then tell me your response.....

Hmm, does it disconnect when you receive a call or dial a call?

Does ADSL goes off?

If yes then most probably Wiring problems.. Make sure that the line comes direct to your modem first and then split it to your phone.. If the connection comes via Telephone then this problem may occur.
