Graphic Cards budget graphics card

i am helping my friend assemble a PC and we have 6k left to buy a graphics card(i know its not much,but we couldnt compromise on the essentials).he would only be doing some casual gaming but i dont think the onboard graphics will be good enough.could u please suggest a graphics card in that budget.
 
if we were to get a ATI chipset based mobo like the MSI-RS480 and then an nVidia graphics card(GeForce),will the gfx card work hassle free. :huh:
this popped into my mind coz i read in a magazine that latest nVidia chipset mobo doesnt support ATI gfx card(or was it vice-versa,cant remember exactly).
could someone please clarify?
 
Yes it will work hassle free. Thats just a misconception. For that budget, id say stretch it by 500 bucks and get a 7600 GS for around 6.5k.
 
6600GT would do just fine (retails around 6k) *you would do much more than casual gaming* :thumb: ... it should work hassle free.
For more cheaper option also try a 7300 GS (retails around 4k).
 
7600GS would work best :) try gettin the 7300GT for 5k otherwise... good card..i guess its sensible to go for Geforece 7 series cards now
