X1550 would b better....else grab 8500GT from market section some1 is selling it for 1.8K...far better than all d mentioned above

i got Zebby 7100gs for one day as a stand by... and it could not support even 1680 x 1050 resolution, their was too much flickering on the screen..and i doubted that somthing has gone wrong with my lcd, then i searched on internet, people on the forums said that 7100 gs struggles @ 1440 x 900 and above..so don't buy it..:)

stretch your budget and get 8400gs for 1900.

very powerful compared to nv7100 and nv7200.

and supports dx10 with inbuilt hd decorder.

To run vista aero animation smooth this is the minimum.

Dunno about 1680 x 1050, but even my antique XFX Geforce 2 MX400 supports 1440 x 900 @ 75hz. and no flickering..Infact FPS for CS has increased thn what it was in 1024 x 768

I'm pretty sure 7600 GS is at least 2times faster than a 7100 GS (or maybe even more)

and is you are that scared then get a 7600 GT, it will work for sure, will cost around 2.5-3.2k at max

i just wanted to inform you.. may be 7100gs is not powerfull enough...but it should be fine for 1400 x 900 resolution, i wud say go for a second hand 8400gs or above, just incase if you install vista...otherwise 7600gs or any other powerfull card...

I've got a temp 7100GS in my rig powering a Samsung 940BW with a native resolution of 1440 x 900. Works like a charm with absolutely no problem. I can watch movies without a problem. Of course, no games though, but it works fine for normal everyday use.
