Caller ID on DECT phone

Hi,
I've got a DECT 6.0 phone from the states and am quite pleased with the quality etc. however the only prob is that the Caller Id does not work I read that it is something to do with signaling differences in both countries.

Does anyone know if (and how) this can be made to work here?
 
Its the difference in caller ID standard 'coz of which phones bought in states do not show caller ID information... For USA its FSK while in India its DTMF. What you need is a DTMF to FSK converter, which is also called caller ID converter..

Fintel one comes for ~200 bucks & works without any battery but then you will miss time date stamp for caller ID display...
 
A cheap converter costs not more than Rs 100. Funnily enough, it has "ADSL splitter" written on it. Mine is without any battery but I get all details on the lcd diplay of the wired unit and the corresponding handset unit. I have a uniden combo btw.
 
SP Road would be your best bet...

I got my converter from there..don't remember the name, but it's on the left as soon as you enter SP road. Maybe the 4th or 5th shop...
