Monitors Can a 22 Inch LCD/LED TV be used as a Desktop Monitor?

Hi,

Can a 22 Inch LCD/LED TV be used as a Desktop Monitor.
I mean will there be any ill effects of using the TV as such close distance as a desktop.

I tried using a 22" LCD as a monitor.. it really hurts... maybe there was a defect with my TV but somehow I doubt if any TV can be used as a monitor...
