Hey guys! Just need a suggestion here. I'm about to format my pc but in a little confusion. I have lost my graphic cards' original disk. So if I format my pc will i be able to download drivers off of the site so that it will be functional? It is a nvidia 9500gt 1gb card. Sorry if this is a very basic question but that's how it is. Please help me out guys.. :)

Thanks for the quick response and are you are 110% sure bro? Because I want the current pc to handle for a while until I get a new one..

Every driver can be downloaded. Drivers need to be updated regularly as and when they release, so the drivers on the CD become obsolete anyways. Every driver can be found on respective manufacturer's website. nvidia's drivers are on nvidia.com, your motherboard manufactuter should have a website too (asus.com, gigabyte.com, intel.com etc.).. Also, you dont need drivers for processor. Here is a list of drivers that you would need after formatting your PC:

1) Audio drivers
2) Graphics drivers
3) LAN card drivers (not usually, but in rare cases)

If you list down the manufacturers of these, we can point you to the respective websites. Also, please post what Windows are you using, e.g. windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit, windows vista 32 or 64, windows xp 32 or 64. Usually drivers are released in separate executables for different OS. Hope this helps...

^^ Thanks a lot bro! Well here are the details then ..

My cpu is a intel dual core E7500 @ 2.93GHz.
And i don't know what motherboard I have got but it is intel's I reckon. That is all i know.. Sorry for that part! Do you reckon i can identify my motherboard without opening ?
And its a xp 32bit..
My speakers are creative A100.
And I'm thinking of installing Windows 7. Do you think my system can handle it without any stutter or lag or whatever?

Install CPU_Z utility. It will show you all info about cpu, mobo and RAM installed in your system. Windows 7 setup includes most drivers. So you will be fine even if you dont have them when you begin installation. After setup is complete you can install drivers after your hardware is identified by the cpu_z utility. For graphic card info use GPU_Z.

Or just format your PC.
Then install DriverMax.
Run it and
It will scan your system for the components and download all the updated drivers automatically.
No need of downloading or anything.

Only your LAN Card should work, which in most cases works without need of a driver.

Thanks for your input guys! Let me just keep it straight. The reason i want to format is because I'm not able to install any version of MS office. If i install and open whatever, be it word, excel, powerpoint, it simply says please check the username and password, something of that sort and because of that it won't start at all. So if you guys help me to install it without any issues, I reckon there is no need for me to format my PC. I felt a little awkward telling this at the beginning but this is the deal..
