Hi,
I bought a Canon PIXMA iP 1000 printer some months back but haven't used it very much. I've printed maybe 5 to 6 coloured pages and 30 to 35 black-on-white pages. The printer is now reporting that the black ink tank ( BCI-24 Black ) is running low. Is this like normal, or is there something wrong with my printer, or am I doing something wrong ? Any advice ? Boy, never realised running costs would be SO high !
 
Depends on what u print yaar. I print text at draft settings... printed a 120 page e-book and a few pages after that. All on one cartridge. Also dont get cartridges refilled. I have the same printer, I get cartridges of Desmat. They just cost 70 Rs.!! Work perfectly and no leaks etc. Almost same quality as Canon cartridges at less then a quarter of the price.
